License terms, privacy policy and conditions of use for SafePDF Checker.
These Terms constitute an agreement between you ("User") and Roberto García Collado, under the trade name RGCSOFTNET ("Developer"), a sole proprietor established in Ferrol, A Coruña, Galicia, Spain.
They regulate the use of the SafePDF Checker application ("Application"), available on the Microsoft Store with the identifier 9PLSMHDZHJJ3.
They complement the Microsoft Store Terms of Service. By installing or using the Application, you accept these Terms.
SafePDF Checker is an informational tool for structural analysis of PDF files. It examines the internal structure of documents looking for patterns associated with known attack techniques.
It is NOT an antivirus, NOT a real-time protection system, and does NOT replace any security solution.
All analysis is performed LOCALLY on the user's device. No file, content, or metadata is sent to external servers. The Application does NOT collect usage data, does NOT perform telemetry, and does NOT require a user account.
The VirusTotal query is OPTIONAL and requires explicit user consent, plus their own API key. When activated, only the SHA-256 hash of the file (64 hexadecimal characters) is sent, NEVER the file or its content.
If the user configures a VirusTotal API key, it is encrypted on disk using Windows DPAPI (Data Protection API), bound to the user's Windows account.
The preview uses the PDFium library (open source, Chromium project) compiled WITHOUT the V8 JavaScript engine. It can render pages but is physically incapable of executing document code. The integrity of pdfium.dll is verified by SHA-256 hash on load.
Since the Application does not collect or process personal data, GDPR rights of access, rectification, erasure, and portability do not apply. If you have questions, contact: info@rgcsoftnet.com.
The Application is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Developer shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the Application.
SafePDF Checker is owned by Roberto García Collado / RGCSOFTNET. The Application includes open source components (PDFium BSD, lopdf MIT, egui MIT, rusqlite MIT, and others) under their respective licenses.
The Application offers an optional add-on ("Support development", 4.99 EUR) as a voluntary donation. This add-on does NOT unlock additional features. All features are available for free.
These Terms are governed by Spanish law. For EU consumers, the mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence shall additionally apply.
